ACCESS (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State- to- State) is our new annual statewide assessment. It is replacing the MELA-O and MEPA. The ACCESS assessment is a content based language assessment that touches upon all content areas of ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science. It is meant to measure an ELLs ability to participate meaningfully in content area classrooms. Student results are reported on a continuum of proficiency in all skill areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
W-APT The WIDA - ACCESS Placement Test is an initial identification assessment. It is used to identify an incoming student as English language proficient or not.
